The Fountainhead, known best for their beer selection, knows how to throw a party. With such recurring events as “East Coast, West Coast, No Coast” and their “It Might Get…” series, plus countless other dinners and tap takeovers, there’s always something to look forward to. With the rooftop open and a new food menu on the horizon, that goes doubly so. Their Local Cask Night has been a highlight the last couple years for Craft Beer Week, so expect to see plenty going on this year.
It’s no great secret that Lincoln Ave is host to some great beer bars, especially around theLincoln Square and North Center neighborhoods. The Grafton, just a short walk from the square, always has some good beers on tap. Enjoy their Irish comfort food to give you that base you need before making your way south on Lincoln.
Bad Apple has an impressive amount of beers on draft and in bottles. You’ll want to stay for a few, though their equally impressive variety of hamburgers is worth the trip too.
A stone’s throw from the Bad Apple is Half Acre. In the past, Half Acre Beer Co has put on some great events, including last year’s epic Craft Beer Week beach party, “The Sands”. Promising to live up to that magical night, you won’t want to miss whatever Half Acre has in store. The tap room makes its beer week debut this year, so if you haven’t managed to get there yet, then there’s no better time to make it happen. Great space, great beer, ‘nuf said.
