What It’s All About
Welcome to the 4th Annual Chicago Craft Beer Week! This year’s theme is “Chicago: A City of Neighborhoods.” We invite you to explore our city via great beer venues. The goal of Chicago Craft Beer Week is as always, to entice patrons to explore the depth and breadth of local craft beer and honor those who enrich our community of beer lovers.
It’s expected that more than 250 venues will participate this year, offering special $4 tastings of rare beers and other special events throughout the week. Festivities will begin with the “Beer Under Glass” event at Garfield Park Conservatory and end with the closing party that will be unveiled soon.
This year’s participation process for both patrons and venues is even easier. Venues or event planners will register with the official Chicago Craft Beer Week website and submit their venues and event information. Participants will be able to use the free offical application available on iOS or Android to access updated event schedules and check-in for points (the point process will be explained in full in due time).
American Craft Beer Week
Chicago’s celebration will again coincide with American Craft Beer Week (May 13-19, 2013). ACBW was started in 2006 and has grown each year. In 2011, ACBW events were held in all 50 states, paying homage to America’s more than 1,700 small, independent craft brewers. Chicago is proud to play a large role in this growing beer culture along with cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, and San Antonio.
